Our Mission

At NAM-therapy we are dedicated to provide families with effective, resourceful, therapeutic interventions that focus on both parent’s and children’s needs in order to address children’s developmental delays and functionality in everyday living.

Our Vision

Our vision is to offer an easily accessible, practical and high-quality Occupational Therapy service to every child and parent we encounter, in and around Windhoek and the bigger Namibia, by providing positive, resourceful, relevant, professional, evidenced-based interventions.

We also aim to promote the importance, awareness and understanding of Occupational Therapy since it is such a diverse and interesting healthcare profession.  OT is very relevant for this time we live in and can have a profoundly positive impact on normal childhood development within this generation – especially in the field of paediatrics.

Of course, the field of paediatrics is only a tiny fracture of what Occupational therapists do.

In general, Occupational therapy focuses on helping a person to do all the activities of daily living that they need to and want to do.   These might include work, school, play, personal care, hobbies, socializing, household tasks, etc.

By helping people carry out their daily activities, Occupational therapy aims to promote health and improve quality of life.  Occupational therapists work to help people develop, recover, and improve while maintaining the skills that they need to live their lives optimally.

Our Goals

We strive to:

  • Make every intervention a positive experience to every child, parent, guardian and teacher we engage with.
  • We strive to build partnering relationships with parents and teachers, built on trust and mutual respect;
  • Provide a professional service with high standards to meet our client’s needs.
  • Approach every child and intervention with passion, enthusiasm, empathy, and a growth mindset.
  • Improve interaction and networking within a multi-disciplinary scope in Namibia for the better of the greater community.
  • Be relevant for this era we live in – to adapt, learn, grow and improve with new developments regarding assessments and treatment options.
  • To educate parents, guardians & nannies on age norms of normal development and relevant age- appropriate free-time activities to reach these goals.
  • To create an awareness of the challenges and dangers of technology and excessive screentime.
